I sat there watching my children catch lightning bugs tonight. I told my wife, "it makes you wonder if God created lightning bugs just to bring joy to children."I don't know the purpose of lightning bugs; what their place is on the food chain or what their breeding patterns are. But I do know that my children absolutely love to catch them. Sometimes I feel sorry for one of the poor lightning bugs, when my daughter catches one a little too hard and almost kills it. Nevertheless, my children receive joy, and I in turn receive joy from observing theirs.
How wonderful of God to give us joy from the smallest things to the greatest!
